13th District Congresswoman Judy Biggert will speak at TAPROOT's September 18 breakfast meeting in Lombard. All Republicans are always invited to attend all TAPROOT breakfast meetings. Attendees always have excellent opportunities to ask speakers questions and to comment on actions that speakers have taken. TAPROOT always encourages all Republican candidates, elected officials, and party leaders to always defend/advance all the planks in the Republican Party platform. All speakers at TAPROOT meetings should always expect questions and comments on their actions. September 18 meeting attendees can look forward to Congresswoman Biggert's responses to questions and expressions of disappointment that she will be attending the September 22 Log Cabin 2010 National Dinner in DC. Judy Biggert, Mike Connelly, Kirk Dillard, Mike Loftus, Mike Prueter, and John Zediker spoke at an outstanding Lisle Township GOP election headquarters grand opening Monday, September 6, at 1160/1162 East Chicago Road in Naperville. The more than 125 who attended included Janice Anderson, Carol Bertulis, Lori Carlson, Mark Kmiecik, Carl Schultz, Mike Tams, Gary Vician, and May Yurgaitis. Attendees enjoyed delicious pizza, popcorn, soft drinks, and more. During his remarks, Dillard graciously mentioned that he shares my belief in the importance of election headquarters. As everyone knows, ever since February 24, 2010, when, without putting it to a vote, Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC) Chairman Chris Heidorn had MTRCC abandon the highly visible very large rent-free beautiful Webb Dodge Building on Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn, I have urged MTRCC's officers to resume use of the building as an election headquarters to help elect Republican candidates on November 2, 2010. Further, I have urged the Brady/Plummer campaign to seek to use the building to promote their campaign not only throughout Milton Township, but throughout DuPage County. I place the in-kind contribution value of using the building rent-free at $5,000 a month.
CHICAGO TRIBUNE
-- FRONT PAGE TOP OF FOLD WITH QUOTES, COLOR PICTURES, AND COLOR GRAPHICS: Tribune/WGN-TV poll: Illinois voters don't trust government to make the right decisions - Rick Pearson (DIERSEN: How much trust do Illinois Republican voters have in their Republican Precinct Committeemen? According to Illinois Republican candidates, elected officials, party leaders, and others who oppose SB600, Illinois Republican Precinct Committeemen play an extremely important role in a) the Illinois Republican Party (IRP)
-- they elect members of the IRP State Central Committee (SCC) who in turn elect the IRP Chairman who in turn plays an extremely important role in deciding which candidates the IRP promotes, b) their county party organization
-- they elect the county party chairman who in turn plays an extremely important role in deciding which candidates the county party promotes, and c) their township party organization
-- they elect the township party chairman who in turn plays an extremely important role in deciding which candidates the township party promotes. Following that logic, the Republican voters in Precinct 9 in DuPage County's Milton Township can hold me, as their elected Precinct Committeeman, directly responsible for everything that IRP Chairman Pat Brady, IRP SCC member Chris Kchiroubas, DuPage County Republican Central Committee Chairman Dan Cronin, and Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC) Chairman Chris Heidorn do or do not do. However, but of course, Illinois Republican voters know that the "majority rules." For example, on February 24, 2010, the majority of MTRCC members elected Heidorn who rejects my urging that MTRCC a) use the Webb Dodge Building as its election headquarters; b) develop and provide its members with candidate brochures to deliver in their precincts, for example, brochures similar to the ones that the Wayne Township Republican Organization is using; c) always invite candidates, elected officials, and party leaders to speak at its monthly meetings; d) develop a budget annually, get the members to approve it, and follow it; e) put more information rather than less information on its website and keep it current; f) use "area managers" like Downers Grove Township Republican Organization does; g) revise its by-laws; h) recognize those Precinct Committeemen who have the best meeting attendance records; i) etc. One could argue that the in-kind contribution value of the Webb Dodge Building is $5,000 a month and that Heidorn's refusal to use it since February has cost not only MTRCC, but Illinois Republicans over $30,000

Reporters employed by newspapers like the Naperville Sun have long argued that they are underpaid. The Naperville Sun wants government salary information posted on websites because government salaries are paid with tax dollars. What about those who want Naperville Sun salary information posted on its website because it serves as an arm of the Democrat Party? Do newspapers intentionally underpay their reporters to promote class warfare?

Those whose paychecks come from some of the taxing bodies in DuPage County are faring pretty well, according to figures obtained by The Naperville Sun. The documents suggest the taxpayer can be a relatively generous employer.)

-- Why I'm debating GOProud - Joseph Farah
(THE ARTICLE: Next week, I will debate the founder of GOProud, a homosexual activist group gaining influence and currency among conservatives, on whether the group is indeed conservative at all. It is my intention to expose GOProud's real agenda - pushing the special interests of homosexual activists inside the conservative movement, gaining acceptance for radical ideas like same-sex marriage from those who should be opposing them and softening up opposition to ideas that are anti-American, anti-God and affirm sin. I believe this could be a historic debate for the very soul of American conservatism. But first, a little background: WND's "Taking America Back National Conference" in Miami, Sept. 16-18, was conceived and organized, in part, because of the conservative movement's capitulation to the radical homosexual agenda: The Conservative Political Action Conference welcomed GOProud as a co-sponsor of the largest annual gathering of conservatives this year. CPAC has already gleefully announced the return of GOProud as a sponsor next year - even though GOProud's inclusion cost the conference Sarah Palin and other top-notch speakers and some long-time co-sponsors. The executive director of CPAC is actively promoting GOProud's "Homocon" conference in New York later this month. Conservative leader Grover Norquist, founder of Americans for Tax Reform, serves on the board of GOProud. One of the most well-established conservative media companies in America is run by a homosexual activist. Conservative celebrity Glenn Beck announced on Fox News that he doesn't believe same-sex marriage will hurt America. Conservative celebrity Ann Coulter agreed to deliver the keynote speech to GOProud's "Homocon" event in New York later this month - an engagement being shamelessly exploited by the group as further affirmation of its conservative bona fides. While all of this was happening, there was no more than an undercurrent of conservative protest. I stepped into the breach, first by disinviting Ann Coulter to WND's "Taking America Back" conference, and now by challenging GOProud to an open and public debate on its real agenda. It was inevitable that some would see my invitation to debate GOProud as contradictory to my position opposing Ann Coulter's speech to the faux "conservative" homosexual activist group's "Homocon" conference. That's why, before disinviting Coulter, I carefully asked her about her motivations for taking the speaking gig and how she viewed GOProud. She made it clear that she agreed with much of GOProud's agenda and that she wasn't concerned about how her appearance would bolster the group's acceptance within conservative circles. My intent is to expose GOProud's stealthy agenda for all to see. My hope is that this event will awaken sleeping conservatives to the enemy that is now within its gates. No matter what GOProud calls itself, it is not conservative. Its agenda includes: same-sex marriage, hate-crimes legislation, open homosexuality in the U.S. military services, special perks for homosexuals and the "gay community," the promotion of sinful behavior as the basis for special and privileged political status. Ironically, America has been having debates about these subjects, and average Americans have soundly rejected this agenda every chance they got. But conservatives have, for whatever reason, feared such a debate. Conservatives are in full retreat mode. Why is this such a big deal? Because I don't believe there is any development that could more quickly destroy America's ability to remain a self-governing society and the very fabric of western civilization than the tacit acceptance of these ideas - ideas that are steamrolling over our political and media culture. There is no compromising with radical ideas like this. They need to be soundly rejected, repudiated, exposed and discarded. That's what I intend to do next week in Miami. I hope you will do all you can to be there.)

-- Mehlman undermining defense of marriage - Chad Croenung
(THE ARTICLE: A traditional marriage advocacy organization is concerned about what former Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Ken Mehlman is doing to undermine traditional marriage, now that he has admitted he is a homosexual. As recently reported on OneNewsNow, Mehlman "outed" himself recently in an interview with The Atlantic magazine where he shared it took him 43 years to get comfortable with that part of his life. Maggie Gallagher, chairman of the board for the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), explains that while her organization respects the former RNC chairman's right to his personal life, his active support for homosexual marriage is a different matter as it is now very public. "He's actually out there raising money from Republican donors to eliminate concern about marriage from the Republican platform," Gallagher points out. She says Mehlman is part of a larger group of elitist Republicans who want to support efforts to make homosexual "marriage" legal throughout the land. "We're going to have to fight him, and we're going to win because 80 percent of Republicans support marriage as a union of husband and wife," the NOM chairman notes. Gallagher also points out that 40 percent of Democrats share in the opposition to same-sex "marriage.")
